A little about the author...
This story came about almost accidentally when my 5 year old granddaughter Adelyn, asked for a bedtime story. The story of Rupert reveals the prejudice often inherent in individuals, families, cultures and races. Many have experienced the fear and agony of being bullied because of differences. But what about the hidden fear and pain that one never sees. The story of Rupert brings to life the pain of those whose suffering in rarely noticed. As I prepared this manuscript for publication, in my mind’s eye, I saw the tears of helpless mothers and fathers whose children, come home from school bruised and humiliated, many from my own doing. It is impossible for me to undo in this life all the pain that I caused others. If by reading this book, a few will be helped in their journey to become part of the solution and not part of the problem, then perhaps our suffering will not have been in vain.
